A turn To The Left

To my ears,
like rumblings & peals of thunder
Her words reached out
Like flashes of Lightening
Her emerald eyes shot me out of balance.

Here across a dinner table
I think of her retort then
At frozen sands beach
Onto a knee I knelt
Asked if you would marry me.

Yes, You said
No sooner had I grinned, than you added;
"When the sun, moon and stars darken and fall,
I'll marry you."
That sounded like a good wisecrack, but again,
Had no choice, but to leave!
